Directions to Portsmouth Dock
The conference ferry to Star Island leaves from the Isles of Shoals Steamship Company dock, located at 315 Market St., Portsmouth, NH 03801.
From the NORTHEAST (Maine, etc.)
Take I-95 South into New Hampshire. Immediately after you cross the bridge over the state line, take NH Exit 7. At the end of the exit ramp, take a left onto Market Street; the dock is about 3/4 mile on left. Use the second entrance (look for the big ISSCO sign) and speak to the parking attendant.
From the NORTHWEST (Northern New Hampshire, Vermont, etc.)
Take I-89 or I-93 South into Manchester, New Hampshire. Then take NH-101 East to I-95 North, and follow directions from the South (below).
From the SOUTH
Take I-95 North to Exit 7 in New Hampshire. At the end of the exit ramp, take a right onto Market Street; the dock is about 3/4 mile on left. Use the second entrance (look for the big ISSCO sign) and speak to the parking attendant.
From the WEST
Take NH-101 East to I-95 North, then follow the directions from the South (above).
From the EAST
You've clearly got your own boat, and don't need our help. Call the Rye Harbormaster to reserve a mooring in either Rye Harbor or Gosport Harbor.
By bus
The Greyhound bus stop at 54 Hanover St. in downtown Portsmouth is the closest to the dock. To reach Greyhound, call 800-231-2222 or visit www.greyhound.com.
C & J Bus Service is located at 185 Grafton Road; call 800-258-7111.
By plane
The two closest airports are Boston Logan and Manchester, NH. Companies that provide transfer services between Portsmouth and the airports change frequently; your best bet is to check the airports' web pages for current information.
